Elephant Study Centre

In Ban Ta Klang. These villagers are descendants of the Suay or Kuay ethnic group, who have a long history of elephant husbandry. Unlike northern Thailand where elephants are kept for labour, Ta Klang people consider elephants as their friends who can share the same house. There are however some ethical questions about how the elephants are ridden and chained for their cultural shows.
