Isebania OSBP
The defining feature of Sirari and one of the principal border crossings between Tanzania and Kenya. Officers from the two countries process travelers and commercial vehicles through a joint facility. It is a working immigration and customs site rather than a tourist attraction. Do not photograph officers, inspections, documents or restricted infrastructure without permission.
A basic local lodging option for transit passengers. Confirm that the telephone number, location, room availability and facilities remain current before relying on it.
From Kenya
On the Kenyan side, the settlement is called Isebania. It is the southern end of Kenya's A1 highway, which continues north through Migori, Rongo and Kisii.
Crossing the border
The Sirari–Isebania One-Stop Border Post is an official international land crossing. The Kenyan immigration authority lists Isebania as active 24 hours a day.
By air
The nearest practical air connection on the Kenyan side is Migori Airstrip, used by small aircraft and safari services.
Central Sirari can be explored on foot, although the road environment is crowded and not designed for pedestrians. Watch for buses, heavy trucks, motorcycles and vehicles turning toward customs yards.
