Trincomalee is a city in eastern Sri Lanka. Trinco (as it is often called) is emerging as a tourist destination thanks to its incredible history and beaches, especially those just north of town.
Batticaloa (Tamil: மட்டக்களப்பு, Sinhala: මඩකලපුව) is a city (pop. 86,227 in 2012) in Northeastern Sri Lanka, known for its lagoon, historical landmarks and nearby beaches.
