Vielha is in Val d'Aran in the Pyrenees mountain range. It's near Baqueira-Beret ski resort. There are lots of mountain activities.

The church, with Romanesque and Gothic elements (the portal stands out), houses the Christ of Mijaran, a Romanesque carving considered the main sculptural example of Aran.
Museo del Valle de Arán
It's in a 17th-century manor house that exhibits various aspects and elements of the geology, vegetation, fauna, climatology, history, archaeology, art, language and ethnology of the valley. The Museum was inaugurated in 1984.
