Abundant sea life and beautiful waters make the coast of the region an attractive place to dive. Divers of all abilities will find plenty of shops offering diving lessons and trips in major resorts. The region has two popular marine reserves - Islas Columbretes off Castellon and Isla Tabarca off the south of Alicante. Specific rules surrounding scuba diving (although not snorkling) are in place for marine reserves and you may need prior authorisation. Local diving organisations will be able to provide up to date information.
