Sort

the former prison located in Plaça de Sant Eloi. The museum commemorates the passage through Sort of the hundreds of people who had fled Nazi-occupied Europe during the years of World War II.

There is a chapel. This site offers spectacular views, spanning from Monsent de Pallars to the Vall de Siarb and the entire course of the Noguera Pallaresa River through the municipalities of Sort and Rialp. It’s an excellent spot to identify numerous villages and the formation of these Pyrenean valleys.

The valley borders the West with the Vall Fosca, the North with the Aigüestortes and Estany de Sant Maurici National Park.

Built in the 11th century. Originally tied to the Counts of Pallars, the castle played a significant role in regional history, serving as a fortification, palace, and prison. Architectural elements include Romanesque walls with cylindrical towers and Gothic features like a portal and windows. It was abandoned after a 17th-century fire and later repurposed as a cemetery. Since 1992, archaeological and restoration efforts have been undertaken to preserve its legacy. The site spans 1,934 m² at an altitude of 710 meters

In the church you can see a reproduction of the Enviny Altarpiece, a Gothic altarpiece created in 1490 by Pere Espallargues.
