It is a city beach, located in the cove of Sant Pol, shaped like a crescent, flanked by two rocky headlands covered with pine trees: Punta d'en Pau and Punta del Molar. The eastern corner of the beach, about 70 m long, called Racó de s'Agaró, belongs to s'Agaró. On the beach is the Taverna del Mar, a building protected as a cultural asset of local interest. Oriented to the east, southeast, in its western part, the beach is about 40 meters wide and about 665 metres long. In the western part there is a dune cordon that separates it from the eastern part, about 9 metres wide and 160 metres long. Plaça del Mercat
serves as the heart of public and economic life in the town. A fruit and vegetable market takes place every morning on the “Plaça”. On Sundays, the weekly market takes place along the Passeig and on the Plaça, a popular meeting place for residents.
Opened in 1833, the seafront promenade was built between the medieval town and the sea. Little by little, the humble homes of fishermen from the medieval era were replaced by stately homes. Today, the area's architecture is mostly modern; because of real estate, many of the mansions are gone and condominiums have replaced them.
