The 'Sindicat Agrícola de Cervera i sa Comarca' was founded in 1919 on the initiative of a group of farmers. The Farinera building was therefore built between the years 1920 and 1922. The Union is the most important modernist building in Cervera, which was used to deal with a law that prohibited the commercialization of wheat beyond the limits provincial The strategy of the Agricultural Union of Cervera to face this law was based on the conversion of this entity into a manufacturer of flour, a product that had no limitations in marketing. This strategy is therefore what explains the construction of the building.
