The archpriestal church of Santa Maria de la Calella is a neoclassical-style building. It was constructed from 1747 onwards, when the bell tower collapsed and the previous church fell apart. It was expanded in 1785 according to plans by the master Moretó de Vic. The old building was constructed from 1543 to 1564, and from it, the large baroque-style entrance portal is preserved.
