The church was built in 1782 in the Romanesque style. According to the plans, it should reach right to the edge of the road, but because money ran out, it was shortened and now has the shape of a Greek cross. The frescoes were painted by Tomaž Fantoni and Jakob Brollo (both from the middle of the 19th century), and Stane Kregar (1966).
