Peaks like Veľký Rozsutec, or ravine Jánošíkove diery make this area very worth the day or two of stay. Many trails for hiking and cycling: get a map at the tourist office (€2.50).
Malá Fatra is a mountain range in the Western Carpathians in the north-west of Central Slovakia. In the geomorphological system, it is a part of the Fatra-Tatra Area.

A stroll among forests, crevices and waterfalls with a hint of via ferrata, most impressive on Horné Diery. Start from Hotel Diery near Biely Potok (bus from Terchová every few hours).
