A castle just out of town. Historians believe it was built between the 12th and 13th centuries. It is positioned on a large steep cliff, and surrounded on three sides by the river Đetinja. It is nicely reconstructed and consists of several buildings, including the citadel and many of its surrounding walls. You can walk nearby along what was Belgrade-Sarajevo railway and watch the river below.
Stari Grad is a medieval fortress located on a high, steep cliff overlooking the city of Užice, in central Serbia. For centuries, it lay in ruins, but has been undergoing a major reconstruction project. The first phase, the restoration of the citadel, was completed and opened to visitors in late 2023, while work continues on other parts of the complex, such as the Water Tower.
