A long oxbow of the Tisa bordered by reeds and fishing waters. Come for birdwatching, angling or an unhurried paddle where local rules allow it. There is little visitor infrastructure, so bring water and mosquito repellent. The nearby Biserno Ostrvo manor is not open to visitors.

Prevodnica Šlajz
A protected piece of industrial heritage, built in 1895–99 where the Great Bačka Canal meets the Tisa. It was an early electrically operated ship lock. There is no visitor centre, but the exterior is worth a detour by bicycle. Take care beside the water and machinery.

The outdoor complex has a full-size swimming pool and three thermal-water pools. The indoor pools are used for training but have public sessions at certain times.
Crkva Svetog Đorđa
This large Serbian Orthodox church was built in 1851–58 and is easily recognised by its three towers. The iconostasis, painted by Uroš Predić, is one of the most important artworks in town. The church remains an active place of worship; dress modestly and avoid photography during services.
Trg oslobođenja; Pogača
The obvious place to begin. The square is framed by the town hall, two churches and low-rise buildings from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Cafés spread onto the square in warm weather.
Rimokatolička crkva Uznesenja Blažene Device Marije
Bečej's Roman Catholic parish church. Inside are stained-glass windows by Ede Kratzmann and an Assumption altarpiece by Mór Than, a painter born in the town.
Spomen-kuća braće Tan
An interactive science and cultural centre devoted to brothers Károly Than, a chemist, and Mór Than, a painter. The hands-on science displays make it one of the better stops for families.
