The island is owned by José Antonio Leviste, a former governor of Batangas. Leviste opened the Resort Club on the island in 1995. It was a bad investment (also due to lack of fresh water on the island). In the end the idea of the resort was abandoned. What has left are remnants of the beach cabanas, swimming pool and an acropolis with Grecian pillars and statues on the edge of the island overlooking the sea. Great place for swimming and snorkeling. Visiting is not cheap though.
This high inactive volcano is a must-visit for beginners. The scenic views and beautiful mountain range made the experience unforgettable. Highly recommended for those looking to start their hiking journey.
