The bay of Ancon has a group of islands (Islas Pescadores) with sea lions and birds, it's possible to organize tours of the islands. Recommended to visit between September and March as that's when the most birds are there.
The hill features a large Peruvian flag painted on its slopes and is situated just north of the Rimac river. With a summit approximately 368 meters above sea level, visitors can contemplate an incomparable landscape: the city with its high buildings, the course of the river Rimac, as well as the sea ports and districts. An observation point with an illuminated cross, a museum and a restaurant are located at the summit. Many tour companies include a visit here on their itineraries, tours can also be organised near the Plaza de Armas for S/10 or an alternative is to take a taxi.
