The museum has 30 buildings that show what the farm environment was like from the end of the 16th century to the middle of the 20th century. You can see a farmhouse, barn, storage cage, sauna, smithy and hunting lodge. The museum also contains a ski museum, school museum, telemuseum and a collection of hunting and fishing gear.

The system can also reached at Hovden ski lift, 900-meter walking distance from the city centre, no parking but suitable for visitors without a car.
