Chipilo is a town of 4,000 people (2020) in Puebla (state) close to the city of Puebla.
Cozy Italian trattoria style restaurant serving pizzas, pastas, risotto and more.
Like most places in Chipilo, pizza is on the menu, but so too is Spanish paella and chiles en nogada, the official dish of Puebla.
Casual place serving roast chicken, served with your choice of salsas, or enchilado (rubbed with a dry pepper seasoning). Also serves barbecue ribs (costillas) as well as carnitas (marinated chunks of pork, roasted).
Interesting cross between a Brazilian churrasceria and an Italian trattoria. Grilled meats served from a long blade (Brazilian style), accompanies by Italian salad, breads, and drinks. Outdoor seating area.
Chipilo is very close to the city of Puebla, which has an international airport (PBC). Puebla is also home to a very large regional bus station, called CAPU where buses arrive from cities throughout the region.
