Kuala Gandah elephant centre
This centre was established in 1989 by the Department of Wildlife and National Parks. A base for the Elephant Relocation Team which started in 1974. Being the only centre in Malaysia, the team is dedicated to locating, subduing, translucent problem elephants from areas where their habitats are being encroached by plantations, to Malaysia's national arks such as Taman Negara. A private car or hired vehicle is the most convenient way to reach the conservation centre and nearby attractions. This former government rest house has more character than any other accommodation in Temerloh. Rooms are very tidy and include air con and hot water. Also has a restaurant.
By rail
The nearest train station to Temerloh is Mentakab train station. Other nearby minor stations are located at Sungai Belengu, Kerdau and Kuala Krau. The train service is provided by the KTMB.
By bus
Termerloh has two bus terminals.g. Kuala Lumpur or Kuantan) depart from the intercity terminal, just off Jalan Ahmad Shah.g.
By boat
Local people still use water transportation, especially those live at the bank of Pahang River.
