Sapo National Park is located in Sinoe County, Liberia. Spanning over 1,800 km² (695 sq mi), it preserves the second-largest area of primary lowland tropical rainforest in West Africa (after Taï National Park in Côte d'Ivoire). Renowned for its rich biodiversity, Sapo serves as a vital sanctuary for endangered wildlife, including pygmy hippopotamuses, forest elephants, and West African chimpanzees.
