Balkhash is a small city located on a lake of the same name and in the Central Highlands of Kazakhstan.
As stated in the name, it's a capsule hotel. You get a capsule bed in air-conditioned room, 2 restrooms, 2 showers and a common room with a kitchen and a fridge. Getting there without a car or taxi can be a hustle, while the closest bus stop is near Stroimart shopping center (around 600 m of walk with footpath only at the last half), but for car travelers, there's a free parking lot in front of the property.
Pretty usual market for Central Asia, where you can buy food, house supplies and even cheap Chinese or Turkish clothes. Good to visit it with the local to have better prices and to see the most interesting stalls.
More Western-like mini-mall with electronics and home supplies stores and, what is more useful, supermarket, for those who are tired of bazaars. Nearby one can find a fish store to try local-caught fish.

By train
While being on a road between two Kazakhstan's capitals, Balkhash is not standing on a railroad connecting these two cities, as it goes nearly 100 km to the west.
By car
Balkhash is standing on a main Kazakhstan's highway going from Astana through Karaganda to Almaty, thus it's relatively easy to visit the city going along the way.
By taxi
Taxis in Balkhash are generally marked and charge a fare of 600 ₸ if flagged on the road or 500 ₸ if called or ordered through InDrive app.
