She was Admiral Togo's flagship in the Russo-Japanese war (1904-1905), and in the Battle of Tsushima it led to the annihilation of the Russian forces. English signage is present, but English-speaking staff is hit or miss. The surrounding Mikasa park is free, and features a recurring fountain show.
