Koshu

Daizen-ji is a Buddhist temple best known for its Main Hall (Kondō), a National Treasure built in 1286 during the Kamakura period. The hall is one of the oldest surviving wooden temple buildings in Yamanashi Prefecture and is an unusually well-preserved example of medieval Japanese architecture. The temple is also known for its association with grape cultivation and is sometimes called the "Grape Temple." The surrounding countryside, on the eastern slopes of the Kōfu Basin, adds to its appeal.

Erin-ji Temple is a Zen Buddhist temple associated with the warlord Takeda Shingen, who made it his family temple. Founded in the 14th century, it is known for its traditional gardens, historic buildings and connection to the Takeda clan. After Shingen's death, the temple became a place of commemoration for the famous warrior. In 1582, it was burned by forces of Oda Nobunaga, and its abbot, Kaisen, died after refusing to flee. The temple was later rebuilt. Its grounds include Shingen's memorial hall and a landscaped garden.
