冥應寺
A temple run by the Bentenshu (辯天宗) Buddhist sect. It has a tranquil atmosphere and unique architecture, including a pointed tower/stupa. It is a popular site for cherry blossom viewing around April, with illuminations during the evenings as well. Every year on August 8, there is a fireworks show from 7:30-8:30 PM.
Located in the picturesque old village of Saho (佐保), this is a sprawling, photogenic garden center that feels more like a nature theme park than a plant nursery. The complex is divided into several zones, including a greenhouse filled with succulents and cacti for sale, a "Farmer's Kitchen" restaurant serving organic vegetable-heavy dishes, and an outdoor play area with treehouses and friendly animals like goats and rabbits. From mid-December to May, the on-site Strawberry Farm No. 15 opens for picking. Strawberry varieties that may be offered, depending on availability, include yotsuboshi (よつぼし), beni hoppe (紅ほっぺ, originally from Shizuoka Prefecture), amaekubo (あまえくぼ, originally from Fukuoka Prefecture), Starnight / sutaanaito (スターナイト), koiminori (恋みのり, originally from Kumamoto Prefecture), akihime (章姫, originally from Shizuoka Prefecture), oiC berry, and/or suzu. The strawberries cost 6 yen per gram. One box of strawberries will weight about 300 grams and thus cost approximately 1800 yen. The entrance fee for adults and elementary school students is 500 yen. Preschoolers and younger can enter free. Only cash is accepted. The picked strawberries can be eaten in the designated eating area or taken home. Reservations for strawberry picking are highly recommended, especially on weekends, and can be made via their website up to 30 days in advance.
