This is the most popular pond in the "12 Lakes" (十二湖 Jūniko) area of the city on the edge of the Shirakami-Sanchi. As the name suggests, it's known for its vibrant blue color. In the autumn, people say that the yellow leaves that fall on the lake look like gold-leaf on blue porcelain.
