In March or April. On Friday, the Virgin Mary emerges dressed in mourning and makes her way through the town’s streets in the traditional "Via Crucis" (Stations of the Cross), which is followed by "s'Incravamentu" (the Crucifixion). A large crucifix is carried from the Church of Santa Maria to the parish church, where it is raised. In the evening, following a liturgical service accompanied by the singing of "su Cuntrattu," and at the behest of the preacher, two members of the confraternity—representing the disciples—take the body of the deceased Christ down from the Cross ("s'Iscravamentu"). They then set off in a procession back to the Saint Mary of the Rose church (Santa Maria della Rosa), once again accompanied by the singing of "su Cuntrattu." On Easter morning, "S'Incontru" (the Encounter) takes place.
