Telangana (Telugu: తెలంగాణ Telangāṇa, Urdu: تلنگانہ Tilangāna), a state in Southern India, is the youngest of the country; having split from Andhra Pradesh in 2014. However, don't let the newness of the state deceive you, as Telangana is rich in cultural heritage, with its history being marked by a succession of dynasties and cultural influences; from the Kakatiyas and Bahmanis to the Qutb Shahis and Mughals, and finally the Nizams of Hyderabad.

Founded in the late 16th century on the hot and dry Deccan Plateau, Hyderabad is a city replete with history and traditions, as well as the wonderful palaces, mosques, bazaars, lakes and other heritage sites in the city.
