Canacona is a city in the South Goa district in the extreme south of Goa. It includes touristy beaches such as Palolem, Patnem and Agonda.
Mormugao is a region of South Goa on a peninsula at the mouth of the Zuari River.
Salcete or Salcette is a taluka in South Goa with the business capital Margao as its centre.
Sanguem is in South Goa. It had a population of about 6400 in 2011.
By rail
Margao Junction is a major railway station, at which the North - South Konkan Railway and the Eastwards bound South Central Railway intersect.
By road
Margao is also well-connected by bus to major cities in neighbouring states. Road connectivity has also improved by leaps and bounds, so that many visitors now opt to drive to Goa.
