Pune (Marathi: पुणे Puṇe), formerly Poona, is the second-largest city in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Often considered as the cultural capital of Maharashtra, Pune is known for its educational tourism and has a blend of cultural, business, health, and cuisine tourism background. The city also houses fantastic restaurants, good museums, and hill forts which offer panoramic views.
Central Pune is the heart of the metropolis.
North Pune is the northern part of the metropolis, including the satellite city of Pimpri-Chinchwad (PCMC). The area is known for its automotive, IT and manufacturing industries.
East Pune is the eastern part of the metropolis.
South Pune is the gateway to the historic Western Ghats (Sahyadri). Centred around the bustling Sinhagad Road and areas like Vadgaon Budruk and Ambegaon, this region offers a more relaxed, suburban atmosphere compared to the city centre.
West Pune is the western part of the metropolis.
