A piece of Southern India, with memories of Mysore king Chamarajendra Wodeyar X. He travelled to Kolkata (then Calcutta) to meet the then-viceroy Lord Elgin. He died of diphtheria in Calcutta at 31 in 1894. It is said that parts of the Keoratala crematorium was bought for his funeral. A ghāṭ (steps to the river) was built there along with a garden and a Vishnu temple.
