The precursor to the new Budge Budge railway station, now partly in shambles. However, it is famous for its association with Swami Vivekananda. After his lecture at the Parliament of the World’s Religions in Chicago, he reached Budge Budge on 19 February 1897, and reached Calcutta (now Kolkata) by train the next morning.

Punjabi Monument
A memorial dedicated to the people who were killed in the Japanese steamship Komagata Maru in 1914. A group of Indians attempted to migrate to Canada on the steamship in April 1914, but most were denied entry and forced to return to Budge Budge on 27 September. There, the Indian Imperial Police attempted to arrest the group leaders. A riot ensued, and they were fired upon by the police, resulting in some deaths. The Komagata Maru incident was widely cited at the time to highlight discrepancies in Canadian immigration laws, and the Canadian government apologised for this incident about a century later.
One of the relics of the now-abandoned Chinese settlement of Achipur, the first recorded Chinatown in India. Many Chinese Kolkatans still flock to the temple around the Chinese New Year.
