The gate was built in the second half of the 3rd century. It was the Roman legion camp's main gate looking for Danube river. This was a three-span structure. Both two edges a storey, octagonal tower flanked. The middle passage used for the car traffic, the two extremes made for pedestrians. Across this was accessible the Danube bridge.
