Overlooking Kyparissia from the Upper Town, this compact but historically significant castle occupies the site of an earlier Byzantine acropolis. Strengthened by the Franks after the 13th century, it preserves sections of its circuit walls and traces of a Byzantine keep embedded within later masonry. Though modest in scale, its hilltop setting and layered construction offer fine views and a tangible sense of medieval frontier history.
The Upper Town is Kyparissia's Old Town with winding alleys, restored houses, and small squares. It retains a strong traditional character and is ideal for wandering, with occasional viewpoints opening onto the sea below.
The main town beach below the castle; sandy, organised, and Blue Flag, with cafés and easy access from the centre.
A long, partly organised stretch just north of town, with a mix of sand and pebbles and a more relaxed feel.
Popular and accessible, with soft sand and some facilities; good for swimming and sunsets.
A quieter, more natural beach further north, within the protected turtle habitat zone.
Near the Neda River mouth, offering a wild, unspoilt setting with dunes and fewer facilities
