A smaller but historically significant church, showcasing Byzantine architectural elements and religious art. It provides a contrast to the larger cathedral and reflects the town’s long ecclesiastical tradition.
A small but worthwhile museum displaying finds from the wider Phocis region, including artefacts from ancient Amphissa and nearby Delphi. Exhibits range from prehistoric to Roman times.
The town’s main cathedral dominates the central square. Built in the 19th century, it features a grand neoclassical style with a spacious interior, richly decorated with icons and frescoes. It remains the religious heart of Amfissa and a focal point for local festivals.
On the North side of the modern Cathedral are the remains of a Baptistery from Late Antiquity (likely 5th–6th century AD) with mosaic floors.
Κάστρο Άμφισσας
Perched above the town, the castle (often called the Castle of Oria) dates largely to the Frankish period but incorporates earlier fortifications. The climb rewards visitors with sweeping views over the olive groves and the Gulf of Corinth.
