Obuasi is a mining town situated in the Ashanti-Kwahu region of Ghana, some 60 km south of Kumasi.

Buses, minibuses and shared taxis operate from surrounding towns. Services from Kumasi are particularly common.
Taxis, shared taxis, minibuses and motorcycles are commonly used for transportation within Obuasi and nearby communities. The central parts of the town can also be explored on foot.
