Bruno Emanuel, the minister of architecture at the Royal Court of Hannover, built this house in 1821 for his family. Now part of the Nienburg Museum, it consists of four parts which house many of the permanent exhibitions. There are a number of special events that take place in the drawing room.
Niedersächsisches Spargelmuseum
The museum is housed in a timber framed old smokehouse (Rauchhaus) where the smoke used to escape from the thatched roof. Growing asparagus has been a major part of Nienburg and you can see these customs in the museum.
