This stately, two-storey timbered building was once home to medieval knights and was transformed into the Nienburg Museum.

The museum is housed in a timber framed old smokehouse (Rauchhaus) where the smoke used to escape from the thatched roof. Growing asparagus has been a major part of Nienburg and you can see these customs in the museum.
