Dominating the historic Market Square, this 18th-century Baroque church is notable for its unique shared tower with the Old Town Hall and its role as a symbol of religious peace in Mannheim.
Located at the heart of the city's grid, this central square features the historic Grupello Fountain and serves as Mannheim's main public transport hub and a popular meeting point.
REM
At D5 and C5 (see above for an explanation of downtown addresses), the REM houses a permanent exhibition world cultures along with an exhibition hall whose contents range from photography to astronomy.
Wasserturm
One of the most famous icons of the Jugendstil (Arte-Nouveau style) in Germany, the water tower (and small park surrounding it) is a great place to sit in the summer for a picnic or just a little rest (officially, walking or sitting on the lawn is prohibited). The park is surrounded by the Rosengarten, a conference hall of reddish brick, and the colors on a sunny day are amazing.
m:con
Music concerts and conferences.
NTM
One of the most important theatres in Germany. "The Robbers" by Schiller had its world premiere here. Has a different show almost every night (for some shows, like ballets or opera, the language barrier is not an issue).
