One of the few secular monuments of the medieval Georgian kingdom, located on the banks of the River Rioni. It is well preserved and developed for tourism. It's not protected anyhow and thus it's free to enter.
The Royal Palace of Geguti was a Georgian royal palace active during the Middle Ages. Currently only ruins remain at the eponymous village, 7 km south of the city of Kutaisi.

They play soccer in Erovnuli Liga, the top tier, with a split spring / autumn playing season. The stadium is 3 km southwest of city centre; it was rebuilt in 2023 and has a capacity of 11,700.
