Roman site. The villa was a huge wine-growing estate that traded from Italy to Spain; about 50 people lived there; the following were found there: a private port, a craft area, a pottery, a tile maker; and also: vases, pitchers, bowls, lamps, dishes of all kinds, perfume bottles, mosaic tiles in 2 colours, glassware, lead and ceramic pipes, about sixty Roman coins , and above all a magnificent woman's head in Carrara marble which must have served as a mascaron which is now in the office of the mayor of La Croix Valmer.
