22.5-km circle route along the slopes of Kiilopää and on to the lake Rautulampi. Popular also by mountain bikers. Magnificient views from Niilopää and Rautupää (the trail goes higher than the maintenance road). Some quite steep sections, and possibly confusing parallel paths at Rautuvanganoja. Long stretches above the treeline, where weather can change rapidly and fog can reduce visibility drastically. Three day huts: Niilopää, Rautulampi and Luulampi. There are old reindeer separation fences near the Niilanpää hut. After the fells and Rautulampi beyond them, the trail continues among rolling hills below the treeline. The return path is either via Luulampi or by a shortcut before it, both routes climbing Kiilopää.
Fell by Saariselkä. Good views. East of the fell is the canyon Pääsiäiskuru.
The steep and rocky ravine was created by the Ice Age. There is a day hut by the name near the southern end of the kuru and an old one a few hundred metres farther away, from about 1900, probably built by gold diggers.
Lake in the middle of the park, with wilderness hut, rental hut and sauna. Popular stop at the foot of Sokosti.
Highest fell in the area, at 718 m. Popular destination in the middle of the park. See the Kiilopää–Suomuruoktu–Tuiskukuru–Luirojärvi–Lankojärvi–Kiilopää unmarked hiking trail below for directions.
There is a circle trail (40 km) going up the river on one side and down on the other, partly by the river, partly higher up. See below.
Home of Father Christmas. Excursions to Korvatunturinmurusta nearby are arranged by local businesses.
