Bishop St. Henry, a missionary to Finland is reputed to have spent his last night in a granary at this place in January 1156, the next day he was murdered by pagan farmer Lalli. The woods of the current remains of a granary are from the 15th century; in 1857 the brick building which is the chapel was built around it.
