Sønderskov Manor was first mentioned in 1448 and the present manor house is a Renaissance building built by the nobleman Thomas Juel in 1614-1620. The associated garden park have been restored to its original baroque grandeur, and includes a kitchen and herb garden tended by local volunteers. Among the flowers, trees and vegetables, a school is kept for bee keeping, and the produce can be bought in the museum's shop. The medieval cellars house a restaurant.
