Solvognens Fundsted
The Trundholm sun chariot (Danish: Solvognen), is a Nordic Bronze Age artifact discovered in Trundholm Bog. It is a representation of the sun chariot, a bronze statue of a horse and a large bronze disk, which are placed on a device with spoked wheels. Since the Sun Chariot was discovered in 1902, it has been an icon of Bronze Age religion. The Sun Chariot carries the sun horse which pulls the sun across the sky during the day and through the underworld at night. The Sun Chariot can be seen at the National Museum of Denmark in Copenhagen. Museum Vestsjælland has a copy. A 1-km path and boardwalk loop from the parking lot leads you past a small stone marking the finding place and some large metal reliefs.
