Old Dutch windmill from 1857, which is the tallest of its kind in northern Europe. It is also a museum covering the history of the mill and the surrounding area. Højer Mølle and the two associated granaries are today part of Museum Sønderjylland, and house an exhibition about the Gate to Tøndermarsken. Here you can get an introduction to the history of the marsh and the human struggle with and against the water.
The lock at the mouth of the Vidå river. Very nice place for experiencing the Wadden Sea landscape.
Old ruin with a moat.
Tufa stone church built in the second half of the 13th century. In the 14th century, earth was filled up around the building to prevent flooding during storm surges, which makes the church appear lower than it is.
Visit the old watertower for a nice overview of the town
Cafe. On the weekend there is a great cake buffet. Free WiFi.
Try the famous Højer sausages.
