Girón is a city in the Santander department of Eastern Andino. It is 10 km from Bucaramanga, and is famous for its colonial downtown.
Placed in an old house restructured with the typical structure of colonial building, with thick walls and bamboo roof, it's an ideal place to visit the surrounding lands. Lots of places of interest very close to Giron, mountains, lakes, paragliding, rafting, national parks, golf course and lots more. From the airport of Palonegro (Bucaramanga) it's 10 minutes by taxi. 15 minutes by taxi from the center of Bucaramanga.
Bucaramanga's bus terminal is located between Bucaramanga and Girón. Buses coming from Medellín can stop on the main road a few blocks from the town's main plaza.
