Shennongjia Forestry District, directly under the jurisdiction of Hubei Province, is the only administrative region in China named after a forest area. It is located in the northwest of Hubei Province. In 2022, Shennongjia Forest District has a permanent population of 62,900 and a registered population of 77,500.
