The city's first national wetland park with a rich military history as a coastal defense fortress dating back to the Qing Dynasty, including relics from the Opium War and the Battle of Shanghai. Spanning about 106 hectares with a 2-kilometer riverfront, it serves as a crucial stopover for migratory birds, featuring restored tidal flats, the Yangtze Estuary Science and Technology Museum, a former steel slag pit transformed into a garden, and a viewing platform to witness the striking color contrast where the muddy Yangtze meets the green Huangpu River.
