Gongyi is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Zhengzhou, Central Henan.

北宋皇陵
Contains the remains of seven of the nine emperors of the Northern Song Dynasty. Zhao Hongyin (the father of Zhao Kuangyin, the dynasty's founding emperor) is also buried here as are dozens of concubines, government officials, military leaders and nobles. In total there are around 1000 tombs.

Gongyi has its own railway station with high-speed and regular trains connecting to Zhengzhou, Luoyang, and other major cities.

Long-distance buses connect Gongyi with Zhengzhou and surrounding cities.
