Dram, also known as Zhangmu (樟木) in Chinese and Khasa (खासा) in Nepalese, is a town in Xigaze Prefecture at the southern edge of Tibet, right at the Nepalese border. At 2350 m above sea level, it belongs more to the world of Nepal than the high plateau of Tibet.
Dram is on the Friendship Highway from Kathmandu, Nepal to Tibet. Entering Tibet from here requires the full array of permits and guides; see Tibet#Get in for details.
