Sable Island is an island off the coast of Nova Scotia, Canada, and a Canadian national park reserve. It is a remote place without services that is hundreds of kilometres from anywhere else – there were only 806 visitors in 2022–23. It is inhabited only by researchers and feral horses.
By air
Air charter is the most common way to get to Sable Island, since most people only make day trips.
By boat
The possibility of heavy fog, shifting sandbars, and rough seas in the waters around Sable Island can pose challenges to boat access.
To get around the island, you will have to hike. There are no vehicles for visitor use on the island.
